Copthill's 300-acre site is not simply a beautiful backdrop. It is a learning environment in its own right and one of the most distinctive features of a Copthill education. Our GOAL philosophy - go outside and learn - sees core subjects including English, mathmatics and science taught outdoors as a matter of course, not as an occasional treat. We achieve exceptional academic results through a thematic curriculum specifically designed to develop curiosity and resilience.

Our pupils leave Copthill well-prepared for a broad range of independent and state secondary schools and our scholarship success rate at secondary school transfer is a source of immense pride. We welcome children from all backgrounds and who have different strengths and abilities - it's our responsibility to bring out the very best in every one of them."

Our advisory board

Answer

Our Advisory Panel Copthill School is supported by a team of experienced professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to help guide the School's strategic direction.

Advisory Board members bring an independent, outward-looking perspective, offering constructive challenge, sharing best practice from their own fields, and helping ensure our decisions are well-informed and forward-looking.

Members contribute across a range of areas, from marketing and communications to curriculum development, financial oversight and safeguarding. Their insight helps us stay alert to trends and innovations in education, so that Copthill continues to evolve in line with our values while remaining focused on the long-term interests of our pupils, families and staff.

Genevieve Miller

CIPD Assc.

Genevieve Miller is a talent development and communications consultant who currently leads talent and inclusion work at the Professional Publishers' Association.

She spent the first half of her career in marketing and communications, honing a knack for translating complexity into clarity for boards, teams and senior leaders alike. She spent 7 years building Bauer Media's ground-breaking learning academy from the ground up. She is a CIPD Associate, charity trustee for a London-based educational charity who work with disadvantaged pupils aged 10-16, and a former Copthill parent.

Duncan Murphy

BA (Hons), MEd, FCCT, FCMI, FRSA

Duncan is an experienced educationalist with a successful track-record of
leadership and governance across the independent sector.

Duncan has featured in The Telegraph, LBC and BBC Radio 4 as a voice of authority on the sector and its challenges and is a regular contributor to the educational press. He is an articulate ambassador for independent schools and all related stakeholders – not least the children, who, he advocates passionately, should be at the forefront of educational policy.

Andy Cordial

Andy Cordial is a founder and IT investor with over thirty five years in the computer industry. His career includes an LSE flotation and the sale of two companies. He is currently building market knowledge across Europe for DataLocker, a US based data security manufacturer known for managed and encrypted USB data storage.

Andy emigrated from Ireland in the late 1980’s and credits much of his success to his wife, Peta and their three children all who benefited from a Copthill education.

Currently Vice Principal at Catmose College, Oakham, Alex has extensive experience in leading school improvement, raising standards, and creating inclusive learning environments where all pupils can thrive. As a qualified safeguarding lead, Alex has extensive experience in developing and embedding strong safeguarding policy and practices, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and fostering a culture where the safety and welfare of every child is paramount.

Alex also brings significant expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as a qualified SENCO, championing inclusive approaches that enable all learners to access a broad, ambitious and supportive curriculum. This sees her supporting staff development, coordinating multi-agency support and implementing strategies that improve outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.
